ENVoY, Non-Verbal Classroom Management

The non-verbal communication skills offered in this training will positively influence the single most powerful point in education—the teacher-student relationship.
Teachers who systematically utilize the full range of non-verbal management skills are able to reinforce consistent and fair parameters while preserving their relationships with each student, regardless of unique learning styles or cultural backgrounds.
ENVoY is a vehicle to shift educators from seeing themselves as bastions of power to instruments of influence.

Topics of Study are:

  • Why non-verbal messages are more effective than verbal messages
  • Recognizing and responding to the various learning styles of students
  • Establishing and preserving relationships
  • The four times teachers most often use management techniques

Who is the program for?

Teachers at all levels of experience and expertise find the strategies useful. The principles of non-verbal management can help who works with young people maintain positive relationships while respectfully adhering to high standards for behavior.

The ENVoY series is based on Michael Grinder’s best-selling books for educators, widely used around the world. The seminar and book ENVoY, are powerful whether you are teaching in K-12 or adult education.

Why do teachers love ENVoY?

The techniques are practical and easy to implement. Teachers spend less time on management and more time on teaching. On average teachers report a gain of one hour per week more instructional time. Best of all, teachers report having more energy at the end of each school day.

“I started my seventh year teaching, and I was ready for a change. ENVoY has helped me to take a step back and slow down, which has had a greater impact on my classroom than I would have ever imagined. I would strongly recommend it for teachers just starting out or for experienced teachers that are looking for a way to improve!”

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND.  This coaching session was designed after several requests from reading, literacy and content coaches for more training in their roles as coaches.  This three day workshop spans several weeks allowing participants to practice what they are learning and meet again for more feedback. The second and third session of this workshop will be held in schools with actual classroom demonstrations. Training is intended for educators in leadership roles that are responsible for coaching and leading classroom teachers.

It is recommended that the coaches bring their building principal or district suprervisor, free of charge, for the morning of the first session. This time will be used to discuss district and building plans for professional development.

Topics covered will include the three levels of coaching, asking effective questions that guide teachers thinking and promote change, leading dynamic literacy meetings, working with reluctant teachers, creating self-extending change and Triad Teaching.
