• Examine current phonics and word study practices in Spanish to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for more explicit, research-aligned instruction.
• Explore effective Tier I and Tier II instructional structures that support decoding, spelling, vocabulary, and comprehension—especially for multilingual learners.
• Evaluate tools and resources for grades K–5 to determine how well they meet foundational literacy goals and support a cohesive, biliterate approach to instruction
