Join fellow Benchmark Advance districts for an interactive experience designed to deepen literacy practices, and uncover new possibilities within the resources you already have. Foundational skills provide an essential starting point, but becoming a successful reader requires more. Students need opportunities to build the background knowledge, vocabulary, and content understanding that allow them to comprehend increasingly complex texts and communicate their thinking.
 

In this interactive workshop, literacy leaders will explore evidence-based strategies for maximizing the impact of your existing Benchmark Advance resources, and ways in which knowledge-building, vocabulary, reading, writing, work together to connect to Social Studies and Science standards to create a more cohesive literacy experience for students. District leaders will have dedicated time to collaborate with National Literacy Consultant, Jennifer Brathwaite specific to your district goals for this school year. Participants will leave with practical strategies, fresh perspectives, and actionable ideas for leveraging resources they already have to strengthen instruction, and support continued growth for all learners.
